Circular Poetry Contributor: Mel Dixon

This contribution to the Letter.Box.Stamp.Collect. project is from multidisciplinary artist Mel Dixon with her piece overalls. Mel says of the connection between the project and the piece:

Written for the Letter.Box.Stamp.Collect. project, the inspiration of circularity lead me to think of times when you are uncomfortable in new surroundings, observing the world with a sense of the familiar and strange. Another influence is the feminine curve, the sensuality of first meetings, early hours and brief encounters. After a few years away from poetry, it has been a pleasure to revisit words and to blend my new visual practice into the old bones of poetic life.

Mel Dixon is undertaking postgraduate studies in Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.  See more of Mel’s work at her website.
